I Thought I'd Fall For You

I finally was out of the suburbs and in Hell-A, Shangri-LA, that big electric plastic desert that we know and love [hopefully] and bought a Bavarian Fruitbread import and the Suzanne single. "I thought You'd Fall for Me" is such a beautiful perfect song! Hope Sandoval's voice and works are huge huge beautiful. Anyway, that fact that I was in LA, had just met the most magickally beautifulicious authorette [and my fav at that] and then suddenly I'm driving around Sunset and stuff listening to that song from the single over and over... it was perfect and beautiful and this is the first story of that I've recorded and have needed to.

But ya, so what do you think about "I Thought You'd Fall For Me?" and what are your other favourite-listen-to-over-and-over-again-for-life songs sung by Hope Sandoval?

Hello !

So, um, here is a thread anew on song-lyrics interpretation, particularly because there are only one, maybe two, credible Mazzy Star / lyrics sites out there, which contain lyrics, but, I continue to find that their interpretations here and there don't seem to match up with my ears and my gut. It is also important to point out here that, as with the Mazzy Star Boulevard site, for example, it is listed there that the lyrics to songs provided are not official, which may contain errors, and that corrections are welcome.

So, although there are several songs which I cannot figure out 100% what Hope is singing, and where the lyrics at Mazzy Star Boulevard don't seem to match, I'll begin hopefully a discussion here, say on one song, for now.

How about the lyrics to Wasted:

I ask everyone to start off with their thoughts as to what word Hope is actually saying in these few lines towards the end of the song, and beginning with what the Mazzy Star Boulevard belief, while I follow with what I hear her saying in this friggin awesome song, and looking forward to what you all think !

(Mazzy Star Boulevard) --
...After I took my eyes

And brought myself back

(What I am hearing) --

While listening to Mazzy Star and on tribe, I decided to click over to the Mazzy Star tribe, after a long time away from the tribe (quiet here)....to see that the moderator is gone,...?...

i remember hearing somewhere that they were releasing mazzy cd box collection. i think in addition to the regular box set, there was going to be a collectors one with a dvd.

anybody else hear about it and/or know of the release date??

A beautiful shiney gift

A few weeks ago my brother and myself attended a beach burn in santa cruz, (vErry sWeeT little event). In the cuddle dome I was graced by cuddling the night away with a sweet and gentle beauty, named Daisy. And to my astonishment a dead ringer for Hope! I had died and gone to heaven and back again. Soft porcelin skin, thick silky raven tresess, dark almond eyes, and that unmistakeble profile. Resting peacefully in my arms...lost in her perfume

Young Daisy was a little down trodin. Her was life as of late was a little dark and whearysom. And in need of tenderness and warm loving touch. Along with a sympathitic ear.

You understand what it means. Once in a great while we get swept up in an intoxicating golden moment in time. And find that you want for nothing.

Swept up in a velvet bliss.

We both got what we needed.

In the morning I find myself awake from my waking dream. And I find that she was gone.

Ok...ok..come back down to earth young man....whew!
