I finally was out of the suburbs and in Hell-A, Shangri-LA, that big electric plastic desert that we know and love [hopefully] and bought a Bavarian Fruitbread import and the Suzanne single. "I thought You'd Fall for Me" is such a beautiful perfect song! Hope Sandoval's voice and works are huge huge beautiful. Anyway, that fact that I was in LA, had just met the most magickally beautifulicious authorette [and my fav at that] and then suddenly I'm driving around Sunset and stuff listening to that song from the single over and over... it was perfect and beautiful and this is the first story of that I've recorded and have needed to.

Several months ago, following your thread, I found and downloaded this song from Hope, "I thought you'd fall for me," but, for some reason I can't remember, only listed to it a few times, and forgot all about it, and about getting back to you with my thoughts in this thread. So, seeing your thread now, and now listening to it, all I can say at the moment is I can't listen to it loud enough, it's late, and it would wake up the neighbor downstairs, nor do I have enough time to listen to it several times, in order to get back to you now re this song -- other than, of course, I like it, and, like many of Hope's and Mazzy Star songs, they grow on me. I'll get back to you soon, tho...
As for Mazzy Star, they are my favorite band, and I love most all of their songs. I'm not religious or a fanatic about them, its, just, I fucking love it !!!! If only I could have (or could still ?!) see them live?! When I first heard them in 1998, it was one of those sounds it seemed like I was seeking, but didn't know it, and while as if I had already known it, deep down. I don't listen to them all the time, actually, when I do, it is for quite a while, and then I don't for months............As for Hope's own album, it is has grown on me a lot -- didn't get all that much into it, when it came out some years ago -- don't know why, that's just the way it is. But, now, I doo love it...!
